Educate To Empower

Academic Focus:

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences believes 'giving education to a tribal child is like giving sight to the blind'. Working on the same philanthropy, every tribal child who comes to KISS goes back to his family as an educated, economically independent and socially concerned individual. In KISS, more than 10,000 children are receiving education, both formal and vocational and its intake is increasing steadily over the years.



From Class I to Class X, around 8000 tribal children get education, which is affiliated to Board of Secondary Education, Orissa. Class XIIth (Plus 2 level) is affiliated to the Council of Higher Education, Orissa. The school follows course and syllabus as prescribed by the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education, Government of Orissa. Their is a dedicated team of qualified teachers, who use both Oriya and English as their teaching medium.

Graduation (Plus 3 Level) offers various programmes that are affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. It includes degree programmes that are at par with the academic norms of the country. These degree programmes are Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA). A plethora of subjects are available for the students here to choose from including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Zoology. Economics, Accounting, Auditing, Psychology, History, Sociology, Tribal Study, Commuter Application, Business Administration, etc.
The post graduation degree programmes include Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.Sc) and Master of Commerce (M.Com) which are all affiliated to the Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. The courses available to choose from include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botony, Zoology, Pol. Science, Accountancy, Finance, Tribal Study and Anthropology.
